Fabrication

The Challenge: The Word's sixth-largest food company was greeted with strong growth of its deliciously popular soup line in 2008. To meet the rapidly rising demand exceeding 30 million cases of pre-cooked soup a year, the company decided to expand and modernize its existing production facilities.

The state-of-the-art construction and engineering project was estimated to cost $40 million. The new facility would incase the plant's soup production capacity by at least 33% a year, when the plant had already been producing at a rate of 30 million cases of soup a year.

The Solution: JIC was called in to bid for the industrial part of the contract. With a deep understanding and experience in addition to a long track record in delivering mission-critical contracts within a short period of time, JIC beat out five other competitive vendors and was selected by the food company and its contractor, AMEC, to perform the fabrication and installation of a brand new soup processing line made entirely of stainless steel platform and stainless steel equipment.

The Results: To build a state-of-the-art modern facility, the food company engaged specialized contractors to perform each part of the construction. Besides JIC as the industrial contractor, there were dedicated electrical, piping, concrete and plumbing contractors on site. To deliver the project on time, JIC had to rely on its superior coordination skills and teamwork with other vendors and contractors to ensure smooth installation. With a dedication team made up of a supervisor, a quality control manager, a foreman, welders, fitters and riggers, JIC fulfilled the entire scope of the project within ten weeks - precisely within the clients pre-set budget and timeframe.
